Observing National Rural Health Day, Celebrating
Healthcare Heroes and Embracing the #PowerOfRural

November 19, 2020

One in five U.S citizens, or approximately 57 million Americans rely on rural health services. Despite the many unique challenges the rural health landscape continues to face, such as physician shortages, aging demographics, increased chronic conditions, underinsured patients, accessibility concerns, lack of resources, minimal funding and declining reimbursement rates… one thing continues to remain the same: the power of rural.

This notion, #PowerOfRural has swept across the nation to deliver an impactful movement that supports and showcases the many significant efforts and strides in reducing obstacles and moving towards positive change. This movement was introduced by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health ( NOSORH) a decade ago.

Celebrating Rural Health Day and Rural Health Heroes

Today, as an ally in advocating for rural health, and as a National Rural Health Association (NRHA) partner, MorCare celebrates the #PowerOfRural. We would like to express our gratitude and sincere thanks to the devoted healthcare professionals who play such a significant role within the communities they serve. They often wear many hats, are altruistic by nature and continuously exude compassion and resiliency in the health fields they serve. Happy National Rural Health Day! Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
